New York eHealth Collaborative’s New-Look Website Seeks to Better Educate Stakeholders & Highlight the SHIN-NY’s Impact on Improving Patient Outcomes
More Modern and User-Friendly Design; Streamlined, Reader-Friendly Copy
ALBANY, NY – New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) has unveiled its new-look website, www.nyehealth.org, which has been streamlined and made more user friendly to increase awareness of and support the adoption of tools that help improve patient outcomes, reduce needless and avoidable tests and procedures, and reduce health care costs.
The new site works to better educate stakeholders about NYeC’s work and impact, particularly through the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY). The SHIN-NY, created by New York State and administered by NYeC, allows healthcare professionals statewide to share clinical information and patient records.
“The new website is more user-friendly, with intuitive navigation. The copy has been streamlined to be clearer, more concise and help visitors navigate the site and find the information they are looking for,” said, Donald Juron, Co-interim CEO and COO, New York eHealth Collaborative. “All of this is aimed at helping better educate our stakeholders about the work of the SHIN-NY to help improve patient outcomes, reduce unnecessary and avoidable tests and procedures, and lower costs.”
“The update allows us to better meet the current and future needs of our stakeholders, as well as increase the ability to promote case studies, success stories and educational campaigns,” said Alison Bianchi, Co-interim CEO and General Counsel, New York eHealth Collaborative.
Every hospital in New York State and more than 100,000 health care professionals and practices use the SHIN-NY to access critical patient information, ensuring that health care providers have the best information as they and their patients make health care decisions. The SHIN-NY sends more than 10 million alerts annually to providers, and patient health records are easily accessed by providers tens of thousands of times every day to support the health care of New Yorkers. Health care costs in New York have been reduced by approximately $200 million annually as a direct result of SHIN-NY.
