Greetings, salutations and welcome to our blog – a feature of our new NYeC website and a communication tool that I’ve been looking forward to for several months now!
As many of you know, the incredibly talented and dedicated NYeC team has been hard at work on a number of industry leading efforts:
+ Building a large Health Information Exchange (HIE) public utility for New York which will provide patients, healthcare providers, public health officials and the payer community with access to healthcare information and tools that dramatically improve their ability to make better health decisions across the whole continuum of care.
+ Leading the country’s Meaningful Use Regional Extension Center Program with over a thousand physicians already proving a “meaningful use” of their paperless systems.
+ In collaboration with other states and vendors representing over half the country, developing a set of highly detailed technical standards to support the integration of the HIE public utility with electronic health record (EHR) products.
+ Creating the largest health IT start-up investment program in the country — the New York Digital Health Accelerator Program — aimed at accelerating the innovation of new HIT products and companies, and creating new jobs in the New York economy.
+ Continuously working with the healthcare community and community leaders to progress New York’s health policy which govern the protection and usage of patient data.
. . . and growing awareness, interest, and excitement through collaborative marketing and education programs like the Digital Health Conference.
Through this blog, we hope to provide you with an insider’s view into the work that is going into these programs, and to invite you to join us on this incredible journey as we collectively work towards developing a new HIT ecosystem for the benefit of all.
