The New York eHealth Collaborative (“NYeC”) is committed to ensuring accessibility for all users of our website. We continually work to enhance everyone’s user experience and apply relevant accessibility standards and best practices on our website. We are actively working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website and to ensure our site conforms to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, Section 508, and ADA compliance standards.
Measures to Support Accessibility
New York eHealth Collaborative takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:
- Designated an internal accessibility lead.
- Manual accessibility testing with NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers and keyboard techniques on desktop and mobile devices.
- Ongoing automated accessibility testing and reporting using the Equalize Digital Accessibility Checker.
- All vendor contracts relevant to the website or digital content creation, including videos, PDFs, and other documents, require conformance to WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Regular accessibility training for website content managers.
Conformance Status
In 2024, NYeC engaged Equalize Digital, Inc., a recognized expert in website accessibility, to audit and remediate our website for WCAG and Section 508 compliance. Equalize Digital performed live-user accessibility auditing, including but not limited to testing by individuals with disabilities using assistive technology, combined with automated testing tools on a representative sample of pages, and resolved identified issues.
WCAG 2.2 AA Conformance
As of testing on December 20, 2024, all main web pages fully conform to WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Fully conformant means that the content and functionality fully conform to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.
