If you want to see the future of the U.S. healthcare system, I can’t think of a better place than New York. When you look at the full spectrum from healthcare delivery that is government-funded to an array of technology-related programs in the private sector, New York is a model for what other cities/states should be doing.

New York has been a vanguard state in fostering an environment of innovation in health information exchange, the use of health information technology to support delivery system transformation such as State-wide medical home initiatives, and initiating SHIN-NY as part of the New York eHealth Collaborative.
